The road to community recovery begins with the assets already on hand.
THE ROCKit BLUEPRINT IS A TEMPLATE FOR
HEALTH AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLANNING
The ROCKit Blueprint helps take the guesswork out of recovery planning by empowering communities to identify and play to their strengths.

The Blueprint is not prescriptive. It summarizes some of best available recovery plans. Communities can customize it.

Every community is welcome to use the open-source Blueprint to inform their recovery plans. Please tell us about improvements you make!

THE ROCKit RECOVERY
PLANNING PROCESS
The ROCKit Blueprint is a simple, flexible, and scalable framework for developing community recovery plan drafts within 90 days. The time to start planning for recovery is now. Each day that passes will lengthen the recovery period.

STEP ONE
Identify forward-looking elected officials and motivated community members and form a core team.
STEP THREE
Find two past examples of successful community engagement locally and understand how they were designed and why they succeeded.
STEP FIVE
Convene local stakeholders,
get feedback on the draft objectives, and develop an inventory of assets (people, programs, and policies), using information from Step 3.
STEP TWO
Interview core team members and individuals representing people and sectors most impacted about how they see local recovery priorities. Gather available data on priorities.
STEP FOUR
Download the Blueprint, work with your core team to tailor it to your community and its most pressing, data-informed recovery needs based on Step 2.
STEP SIX
Create community plans for priorities by asking "What can we do with what we have?" Work quickly and iteratively to gain momentum. Small successes lead to bigger ones!
